Weight Loss, Good Food, and More!

First things first, I lost 4 pounds this week! I am so excited about this!

When I got up this morning, I didn't want a heavy breakfast knowing that I would be weighing in at noon.  So, I decided to make myself a smoothie.
I really enjoy smoothies both in the mornings and after a good workout.  They're kind of like my "salads" - you can throw just about anything in to the blender and it usually turns out pretty good.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie Recipe:
1 frozen banana
1 heaping scoop of chocolate protein powder
1 Tbsp PB2
1 cup almond milk
4-5 ice cubes
Blend and enjoy!

After I weighed in, I was getting pretty hungry so I headed to my new favorite fast food place.
I eat at Subway just about every Friday and I never get sick of it.  There are so many healthy options there and it leaves me full for a long time.  Today I had a Black Forest Ham sandwich on flatbread with lots of veggies and honey mustard.

After work, I got in a great workout at the gym.  60 minutes on the elliptical and about 20 minutes of weightlifting.

Tonight for dinner is Crock Pot Santa Fe Chicken from Skinny Taste.
If you don't know about the Skinny Taste website, you're missing out.  I have never made a bad meal from there and the recipes are all so healthy.  Check it out.  You won't be sorry.

Last but not least...

I'M MOVING!

I'm excited. I'm scared. I'm a bit overwhelmed.

Oh, and I'm not just moving, but I'm moving in with Jake.  Yes, we've decided we're going to live together.  It will be a change.  But I'm excited.  I swear.  Ok, I'll be excited when it's all over and I'm settled into a beautiful house.  With a huge kitchen.  And a live in maid.

This weekend will be spent looking at three different houses.  Fingers crossed that we really like one of them!

Have a great weekend!

  1. 4 pounds is awesome! Go you!

That is my favorite smoothie!! I like to also add spinach and flax seed meal!

Yay for moving in together! My husband and I lived together for about 3 years before we got married and I think it was a great decision!

    1. I never thought to add flaxseed meal - thanks for the suggestion! I actually have some in the cupboard so will add some next time I make one. A little bit more fiber is definitely a good idea in there. Also, I always forget to throw spinach in. People say you can hardly taste it and it's such a boost in vitamins.

Thanks for the cohabitating support as well :) I swore I would never move in before being engaged, but since we've been ring shopping I think it's safe to say it's not too soon.

  2. Does your apartment require a two month advance notice to vacate also? Mine does and I thought I was the only one!
I'm super excited to read your blog , I was sent here from runs for cookies. Me and you are in similar positions in our WLJ. I started at 265, and I'm down 15 to 250 on weight watchers. So I am excited to read along with your journey!

    1. Hi Sarah! My apartment does require a two month notice. I've found that to be pretty standard in Minnesota (not sure if it's a state-by-state thing). However, there is someone who really wants to move in here so if we find a place that's available May 1st, it looks like I'll be able to move out April 30th. It's nice to have options!

I'm really glad you found my blog! Welcome! I'm also doing Weight Watchers and that seems to be the best program for me. I don't promote it on here too much because different things work for different people and I didn't want this to turn into a WW blog, but it is a great program.

  3. My husband and I lived together for about a year before we got married, and I have to say, although I was sort of against it originally, I'm so glad we did. I think it made us closer, and made the transition into being married so much easier!

    1. That's really encouraging to hear. I was against it, but he already spends 3-4 nights each week at my apartment, so is it really that different? We'll both save some money in the long run too!

  6. Congrats on the move in Steph! It's such a change, good and bad. I can honestly say Steve and I didn't have a fight until he moved in... hahaha, BUT that being said you grow from that. You learn what you both need from each other better. I wouldn't have it any other way. Things can't always be perfect. Good luck! I think I will also have to check out that website!

  7. congrats on the move! i just found your blog through runs for cookies list. i only found that blog a week or so ago and i do enjoy it....but i like that you just started your journey no to long ago and perhaps i can do it with you! i read all your past blogs while my little guy was napping. i just turned 30 two and a half weeks ago and saw some pictures from my surprise party... awful. i have been going to the gym but i believe the bigger problems lies in my eating habits. i have lost 12lbs with WW and kept it off but fell off the bandwagon when the holidays hit....time to get back on! thanks!
